Letter, 1758 January 26.

Letter demanding that upon arrival of two privateers, a sloop called the Stannix from Philadelphia with George Stevenson as master, and a schooner called the Lyttelton of Carolina with Miles Tedder as master, the masters be brought to punishment for "Piratical Acts." He recounts that they forced a sloop, the Charming Polly, flying under a flag of truce with French prisoners aboard, to the far side of Hispaniola, forced all aboard to shore, and took the sloop with them. He states that many shipmasters on Hispaniola refuse to sail with this threat, even under flags of truce. Written at Jamaica.
